A major level of pesticides in the Russian River come from urban run-off. Learn how to manage your urban property to benefit the environment and support native plants and habitats!
Learn what you can do in your own backyard to improve water quality and create habitat. Information will be provided on how to reduce pesticides, increase slope stability, identify and remove invasive non-native plants and revegetate with native plants, as well as alternatives to commonly used house and garden chemicals. This workshop includes a presentation from Laurel Marcus, Watershed Scientist, on how individuals, in both an urban and rural residential settings, can manage their homes and backyards to make them more ecologically friendly.
